Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened a city square in Moscow City Center on Presnenskaya Embankment. The mayor emphasized that the development of Moscow City continues, but today the complex has turned into a full-fledged business center.

“A gift for City Day – we are opening a new city square. It is not yet completely finished – the facade will be completed, but by and large the construction is completed. I think it will be one of the most popular places,” Sobyanin said when talking to the townspeople working in offices business center.

He noted that more than 100 thousand people are currently working at Moscow City. Sobyanin added that the opening of a new square is only part of the work to create a public space around Moscow City. “Today, the City is becoming a beautiful public space. Today it is already a business card,” the mayor emphasized.

We are opening a unique public space – the city square, which will become a venue for cultural events, a tourist attraction and just another platform for walking and everyday relaxation of citizens, “said Sobyanin.

The new city square is located near the exit of the Vystavochnaya metro station, the Bagration pedestrian bridge, the Evolution tower and the Afimall City shopping center.

The area can be used for sports and outdoor ceremonies, gastronomic festivals, city celebrations, educational and other events. For this purpose, a pedestrian gallery, a pergola and an amphitheater in the form of a hill-stand are equipped. The main decorations of the new public space are light-dynamic fountains with a cascade and controlled nozzles, as well as huge clocks, stylized as chimes.

In 2020, it is planned to launch a light and music show on the square, which can be seen 365 days a year – every hour in the winter and every half hour in the summer at night. The duration of the show will be 5-10 minutes. To conduct it on the square and the facade of the cinema hall under construction, more than six thousand devices will be installed, including monochrome LED-lamps, luminous numbers, all-weather RGB strobe lights.”
